Filmmakershelp speaking on behalf of indy filmmakers

By Michael Palomo
I want give a personal Blog thanks to Ed DeBuvitz for inviting me to Friends Of Film Video & Arts. The interest was much more than I anticipated, and thought it would be great to share that with others. I thought writing a post telling a little about what we talked about would be a good idea.

First we talked about the trends of independent distribution, and where it might be going. As we see sites that support multi level
Profiling. From bio, picture, video, and even project pitching. It’s in my opinion as filmmakers become Internet savvy, and not wanting to be behind in the amazing opportunity that filmmakers have right now. I mean think about it; a filmmaker shows is film at local guild that’s stuffy and only seats 100 people or more. The point is why not show your film to the world on Internet locations all over the world. In niche markets that go with the stiyle/nitch of your film/art were you stand a better chance selling tour film. Unlike some of these bigger markets like Amazon. Where you’re competing with a lot of other films
Why not build a network of niche markets, websites/channels Internet guilds we could call them. That aren’t asking near as much to distribute your film, like taking the rights to your film, and asking for 50%. I would understand if they’re going to market your film and handle all the distribution aspects. As filmmaker you’ve got to look at what your giving up when you let somebody distribute your film.
You also need to decide whether you’re an Indy filmmaker that wants other people to distribute your film, or you’re an Indy filmmaker that want to self distribute. That’s why I think what Filmmaker Help offer is really cool because it offers both ways for filmmaker, with out taking all the rights to your film. It’s my opinion this is the perfect Indy distribution solution with three great options.

1. You pay a penny a minute per view to load your movie to our sites; you make all prophets from the sells of your movie, including ads displayed on your profile. You maintain the right to pull your movie at anytime, we maintain the right to reject.
2. Upon acceptance you pay nothing we list your film we market your film for a non-exclusive lifetime contract, dividing the profits, 50%. Excluding sponsors. With a 2% buyout on all profits made by the filmmaker after the sell of the movie
3. We call this the deluxe package, No film contract with two options. The first one follows package one. Where you get a free profile on our channels. But there is an upfront fee of 5000$ for a custom website/channel/guild were you can host other filmmakers or not. You use our streaming video platform for a penny a minute per view. You pay hosting fee for your website you own the URL. We include the option of servicing the site yourself, or paying for website service, and Extra services like marketing.

No matter witch one of these ways you go, you can continue to sell your film threw other avenues, and make all the profit you might make threw these other avenues. If you’re a really motivated to self distribute. I suggest the deluxe package or you could do it all yourself but I would still recommend using our video service.
It’s really the highest quality streaming video you can find for the
price with a built in pay/per/view option, without having to get a special merchant account. For 12$ a mouth you can have your own pay/per/view Channel. That you can put on a blog or website for free. 123 and you’ve got your own TV show

I think this is a video for all filmmakers wanting to distribute their films

I think this is a video for all filmmakers wanting to distribute their films
via the internet, It's hard to believe that we're just now getting up to speed with guys like this.

Some of the world’s most frequent travelers are rock stars. Dave Stewart, English musician (think The Eurythmics and Annie Lennox) and record producer, is no stranger to airports, buses and airplanes, and yet, his views on technology go beyond how it is used while traveling.

A true digital nomad, in this video Dave discusses the use of technology in the making of music and more.

Don't Look Past Your Local Internet Audience, TV Is Out

They might be your best customers...

When it comes to Internet marketing for small businesses, it can be easy to get caught up in the enormous number of tactics and resources available online.

You might even forget about the good-old fashioned local media that has been working for businesses for ages.

I'm talking of course about local television, local radio, local newspapers, etc. You can still look to these resources for advertising in the online world, because chances are, most of these outlets have web sites that offer advertising opportunities, providing not only a chance to have your message appear to users across the web, but have it targeted to local residents at the same time.

You've got your obvious local audience looking for local news and items of interest, and thanks to blogs, social bookmarking, and news aggregation like Google News, stories will be linked to and picked up all over the place.

This will translate to more eyeballs on your ad. Think about it.

On WebProNews, Mike Sachoff talks about a study that finds how consumers trust advertising on local newspaper, magazine and television Websites take action after viewing ads on these sites.

According to that same study, the following percentages of consumers taking action correlate with ads on each type of site: Local Newspaper Site: 46%

- Local Television Site: 44%

- Local Magazine Site: 42%

- User Review Site: 39%

- Portal: 37%

These are not small numbers.

When you are evaluating the different pieces of your own Internet marketing puzzle, it is not wise to count out the sites that hit closest to home for your most likely customers.
